Dalrymple, Granite Hearts Team Honored The International Heart and Lung Games team based at the Bond Wellness Center at Monadnock Community Hospital has received the 2007 Outstanding Achievement Award for Physical Activity and Health from the N.H. Governor's Council on Physical Activity and Health. The award is presented to organizations and individuals who have made a significant impact on the health of New Hampshire residents by promoting healthy lifestyles through physical activity and fitness programs. The
award recipients were honored at a ceremony on May 31 during the Healthy
Bodies, Healthy Minds, Healthy Schools Celebration at the Hampshire Dome
in Milford. Members of the team are Antrim: Karen Scott, Egon Ali Oglu,
Mary Barsanti, Fernando Barsanti; Dublin, Thomas LaFortune, Mike Edick;
Jaffrey: Bruce Schmit, Owen Houghton, Robert Colgate; Lyndeborough: Mary
Leavitt; Peterborough: Richard Lindsay, Carmen Soto; Rindge: Deb Hanson;
Stoddard: Coaches are: Barbara Dalrymple of Amherst, administrator and state team coordinator; Elizabeth Peltokangas of New Ipswich, chair and team manager; Deborah Chabot of Hancock; game of knowledge, and Steve Capizzano, table tennis, swimming, basketball. The N.H. Governor's Council on Physical Activity and Health was formed in 1991 by executive order of Governor Judd Gregg. The council's mission is to promote a healthy lifestyle for all New Hampshire residents with a special emphasis on children and youth.
